The Globe and Mail - Books RSS Feed
I found Google Reader quite easy to use. I am not sure of the benefit to subscribing to CBC Top New Stories over just googling it directly. I will have to explore it further to see if I will continue to use Google Reader.
The main advantage of an RSS feed is that you don't have to Google each site to see if there is anything new--updates are automatically sent to your reader. However, I know what you mean because if you are just interested in one site, you could go to it directly and check every day.
